Configuration (sugata): with longitudinal ridge line (shinogi-zukuri), shallow peaked back (iori-mune) and medium point (chu-kissaki); length (nagasa): 2 shaku, 4 sun, 5 bu (74.3cm.); curvature (sori): koshi-zori of 1.3cm.; increase in width of blade (fumbari): 1.0cm.
Forging pattern (jihada): wood grain (itame) with straight grain (masame) in the shinogi-ji.
Tempering pattern (hamon): clusters of invections (gonome) with wavy suguba in nie.
Point (boshi): brushed tip (hakikake) with long kaeri
Tang (nakago). Shape (keitai): wide, ground down slightly above the mekugi-ana, shortened approximately 6cm. and with a moist, brown patina; file marks (yasurime): slanted (katte-sagari); end (nakagojiri): squared (kiri-jiri); holes (mekugi-ana): two; signature (katanamei): Yamato Daijo Fujiwara Masanori.
