A RARE MING-STYLE YELLOW-GROUND BLUE AND WHITE DISH
YONGZHENG MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD

The central medallion painted in underglaze-blue with lotus and peony blossoms linked by scrolling stems and leaves, within a frieze of differing flowerheads around the cavetto, all encircled by a classic scroll border covered in translucent green enamel below the rim, the exterior with a matching frieze between a keyfret border around the rim and a classic scroll around the base, all reserved against a bright yellow ground of even tone extending over the base--8 1/2 in. (21.5cm.) diam.
