First edition under this title (one of 6 volumes in the Uniform Edition of Allingham's works issued by Reeves and Turner from 1884-1890), music printed in the text, ALLINGHAM'S COPY WITH HIS REVISIONS IN INK (probably for the 1890 second edition): Allingham has scored through the half-title leaf (recto and verso) and the title-page; has crossed out his initialed note on verso of the half-title and has made a revision on that page; has noted at top of title, "New title pages, W.A."; and, on verso of half-title, has listed six pages bearing his "alterations" (pp. 29, 105, 125-127, and 154). Page 29 has a revision of a half line of verse and a few corrections; the other five pages have minor corrections/revisions on each (punctuation and spelling, etc.). Fredeman 46.18.
