The long, rectangular writing box decorated in two-colored gold hiramaki-e with curving paulownia scroll reserved on a nashiji ground, fitted on the interior with a removable section containing the ink stone, silver plum-form mizuire and paper knife in a lacquer case matching the exterior of the box, the ground of this section, the interior of the suzuribako and the underside of the lid all nashiji, silver ring fittings- 15 3/4 x 3 3/4 x 3 3/8 in. (39.8 x 9.6 x 8.4 cm.), rim chips and minor wear
