The globular censer set on three stump feet moulded in high relief with a 'cloth' collar starting at the neck and falling down the sides of the censer, these enclosing groups of seated courtiers, and the collar itself painted with roundels of Chinese goddesses, the area above the foot painted with a wide band of black lappets enclosing gilt peony scroll, all rendered predominately in gilt with details in colored and white enamels, the cover matching the area surrounding the neck and surmounted by a gilt knop in the form of a hare- 4 1/8 in. (10.4 cm.) high
