A WATERCOLOR AND INK DECORATED BIRTH AND BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE
ATTRIBUTED TO REVEREND HENRY YOUNG, 1792 - 1861, SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA, CIRCA 1833

Featuring a blue Classical mantel crowned by large blue urns and flanked below by two women in Classical garb, one holding a mirror of Truth and a scroll inscribed, "Rom. Ch. 6. v.3.", the other supporting a brown anchor and holding a scroll inscribed , "St. Matth. ch.28. v.19.", all surrounding the central inscription, "To these two parents, as Mr. John Harshberger and his wife Magdalene born a Rishel was born a daughter on the 19th day of November 1832 in Gregg Township Centre County State of Pennsylvania, and baptised March the 4th, 1833 by the Rev'd. Colins and received the name of Rebecca. The sponsors were her parents."--14½ x 12in.
