A FINE GREEN AND YELLOW-GLAZED INCISED DRAGON BOWL
QIANLONG SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD

Finely potted, the deep rounded sides flaring at the rim, the exterior incised with two dragons striding through clouds and flames in pursuit of flaming pearls, between a ruyi band below and a border of classic scroll above, with a shou character medallion on the interior, all under green enamel reserved on a lemon-yellow ground--4 1/8in. (10.5cm.) diam.

Lot Essay

A pair of bowls of this pattern was included in the exhibition, Chinese Porcelain, The S. C. Ko Tianminlou Collection, Hong Kong Museum of Art, 1987, Catalogue Part I, no. 111, and a single bowl was included in the National Palace Museum Special Exhibition of K'ang-hsi, Yung-cheng and Ch'ien-lung Porcelain, 1986, Catalogue no. 77.
