A VENICE (VEZZI) GLOBULAR TEAPOT AND DOMED COVER
Circa 1725

With curved spout and loop handle, decorated allover with radiating overlapping scale ornament with some scales outlined in puce and each scale with a puce dash centre, the cover with stylised flowerhead finial issuing from three radiating bands of petals similarly edged in puce (the cover with slight chip to one radiating petal and with a later pierced steam hole), puce Ven:^. mark and incised P and N

This form would not appear to be recorded in the literature although for another teapot with somewhat similar moulding but differently decorated and with a less elaborate mark see Francesco Stazzi, Porcellane della casa Eccellentissima Vezzi (1720-1727), pl. LXVII
