With browned two-stage etched twist barrel with silver fore-sight, octagonal breech section changing to polygonal and signed in full on the top flat, case-hardened patent breech with four platinum lines and screw-in plug, case-hardened scroll engraved tang, signed case-hardened scroll engraved rounded back-action lock, the hammer with blued detachable striker of 'Imperial' cap type, finely figured walnut half-stock, chequered grip, cheek-piece, scroll engraved blued iron mounts, silver escutcheon, fore-end cap and barrel-bolt escutcheons, original brass-mounted ramrod, and nearly all its original finish throughout: in contemporary brass-bound fitted mahogany case lined in blue velvet with flush-fitting carrying handle, and accessories including Dixon leather-covered powder-flask, the lid of the case and of the interior compartment inlaid with geometric marquetry patterns, London proof marks
