Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs Brut--Vintage 1978 (3)
The original winery was founded in 1862 and the cellars are literally "caves", excavated by Chinese labourers at the time and perfect now for maturation and storage. The winery was purchased by Jack and Jamie Davies in 1965 and from that moment concentrated on producing the finest possible sparkling wine, pioneering the use of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
They have sent over for this sale two beautifully aged vintages
