PERCUSSION SPORTING RIFLE with multigroove rifled sighted barrels with raised longitudinal ribs over their entire length, long case-hardened tang engraved with scrolling foliage, signed case-hardened back-action locks engraved en suite (one hammer missing), and pierced and chiselled gravitating stops, highly figured birchwood half-stock with cheek-piece and integral spurred and scrolled trigger-guard, German silver mounts engraved en suite with the locks including butt-plate, engraved silver escutcheon gilt against a blued ground with the crowned arms of Salm within mantling, German silver sling swivels and turned ramrod-pipes, original horn-tipped ramrod, and some original finish, by Adam Rosen in Dyck, circa 1830-40
