a set of versified love letters between Love and Beauty expressing the philosophy of love, manuscript on flecked ivory paper, 30ff., each with 12ll. of elegant nasta'liq written in two columns, gold intercolumnar lines between black rules, blue, red, green and gold margins between black rules, blue outer rule, headings in white or red on gold cartouches within illuminated panels, (very minor staining), opening folio with gold and polychrome illumnated panel above the text and illuminated intercolumnar division, final bifolio with illuminated triangular panels within the text and colophon signed by Muhammad b. Mulla Mir al-Katib and dated 25 Safar 994, the polychrome margins finely painted with trees and animals outlined in gold, in contemporary black morocco binding with stamped gold central panel and cartouche border (remounted)
