black ink on pinkish paper, a man kneeling in a striped fur-trimmed coat and turban stretches out his right hand delicately holding a fruit, his other arm hidden with the coat's long sleeve, unrelated Persian couplets from a love-story and gold and polychrome illumination mounted around the edge, gold margins between black rules, (very slight staining), mounted on red card

Lot Essay

The signature has been mostly erased; it seems to have read raqam Katani......Khusmawis. It does not equate with the signatures of any known artists of the period.
