Engine No. UMB 1247

When William and Charles Hurlock took over the long established AC marque they adopted a policy of building bespoke fast touring and sports cars. In the post war period the range of cars was joined in 1950 by the Buckland sports tourer made by the Buckland body works of Buntingford, Hertfordshire.

Utilising the famous AC six cylinder 2-litre engine giving 75bhp, the Buckland was a quick car for the period. This example is partly restored and there is a photographic record of the work to date. The engine was rebuilt 2 to 3 years ago, but the carburettors perhaps need rebuilding before running. The front shock absorbers have been replaced and there are new brake pipes and cylinders. It has a hood frame, but no weather equipment. The vehicle is registered with the AC Owners Club.
