A Victorian oak and mahogany-banded longcase clock, mid 19th century
The case with swan-neck hood and outset ringed columns, with mahogany veneers to the canted angles flanking the short rectangular trunk door also with mahogany banding, conforming decoration to the stepped plinth, the 13in. white dial with painted scene of a cart crossing a stream to the arch, the centre painted with birds and with subsidiary seconds ring and arch date aperture, signed Ja.s Hancock/Keinton, with brass hands, some retouching, with falseplate to the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement -- 80½in. (204.5cm.) high
