A FRENCH 1822 MODEL PERCUSSION GRENADIER MUSKET, converted from flintlock, with sighted barrel stamped with various marks and dated at the breech, tang dated 1822, flat bevelled lock engraved 'Mre. Rle. de St. Etienne', rounded tail, walnut full stock stamped 'J.B. Guillarme' behind the trigger-guard tang, the butt with recessed cheek-piece and stamped with various inspector's marks and 'St. Etienne', regulation iron mounts struck with inspector's marks and including two spring-held barrel-bands and a pierced muzzle-band also forming the front ramrod-pipe, sling swivels, original iron ramrod, small brass circular plaque in front of the butt-plate tang stamped 'M+S 30', and iron socket bayonet, dated 1839
