A CONTINENTAL MILITARY PERCUSSION MUSKET, similar to the French 1822 model, with bright iron barrel, dated and struck with various marks at the breech, plain tang, bright flat bevelled lock with rounded tail, figured walnut stock stamped with an inspector's mark (Neue Støckel 2104) behind the tang, bright iron mounts struck with various inspector's marks and including two spring-held barrel-bands and a pierced muzzle-band incorporating the front sight and forming the front ramrod-pipe, sling swivels, blued trigger, original iron ramrod, original iron socket bayonet, and in unfired condition, the butt with recessed cheek-piece, typed paper label inscribed '134 Französisches Infanteriegewehr mit Stichbajonett', and oval brass plaque inscribed '....Frankreich Fusil d'infanterie' (first part of inscription erased), dated 1841, possibly Belgian
