A PAIR OF PARIS URN-SHAPED VASES in the neo-classical manner, each with two upturned scroll handles with anthemion terminals, the slender bodies painted with young women seated playing with children on their laps in gardens with statuary, within broad gilt borders chased with scrolls and anthemion, the reverses with scrolling foliage above pendant bouquets within vertical gilt line cartouches, the lower bodies gilt with flutes, the everted necks and spreading stems with burnished gilding, on later black stone plinths (covers lacking, one vase with restoration to handle, crack to neck and wear to gilding), circa 1830
