ZEILER, Martin (1589-1661). Itinerarium Italiae nov-antiquae: oder, Raiss-Beschreibung durch Italien. Frankfurt: Matthäus Merian, 1640.
2° (309 x 192mm). Title with engraved printer's device. Engraved allegorical additional title, 5 maps (4 double-page, one folding), 2 folding panoramas of Venice and Rome and 35 plates only (of 36, 33 double-page, one folding) showing 39 town views and plans, engraved arms of the dedicatee on recto of **2, extra-illustrated with a small format view tipped in at p.49. (The views of Luca, Bologna and Naples, two of the maps and both panoramas shaved with slight loss, the panorama of Venice with neatly repaired tears, occasional small neat marginal repairs, some light spotting). Contemporary blind-tooled vellum.

This copy lacks number 9 on the plate list Forte de Fuentes, normally bound at p. 49; the small-format plate bears the same title and appears to be a substitute by the publisher, cf. Cremonini 26.
