A 17-Bore Italian (Brescian) Wheel-Lock Belt Pistol
Circa 1640
With two-stage barrel stamped 'Lazari Cominaz' on the top flat of the octagonal breech, and with stepped ramp at the rear, plain tang, flat bevelled lock with chiselled details and struck on the inner side with a mark (cock and pan-cover expertly replaced), figured walnut full stock with faceted butt, inlaid around the trigger and the side-nails with pierced iron panels, pierced and chiselled iron trigger-guard, pierced baluster trigger, pierced ramrod-pipes, and original iron-tipped ramrod (belt hook removed)
