Lot Essay

Cf. O.E. Mayer, Raerener Steinzeug (Aachen 1967), p.136 and 138 ill.132 No.11 for an illustration and a discussion of this Raeren Hausmarke.

H. Liefrinck is described in literature as an engraver and a modeller. Sometimes his name appears on Raeren jugs in combination with his mark. An example is a jug in the Musées Royaux d'Art et d'Histoire, Brussels.
