A Meissen-pattern two-handled shaped rectangular Kauffahrteiszenen tray
19th century
Heavily gilt and painted in colours with a central ogival cartouche depicting merchants on a quayside with faraway vessels, buildings and mountains, surrounded by scrollwork, the border with a band of small stylised pink flowers and moulded with shells, containing two smaller cartouches en suite (minor wear to the gilt)
