A CYPRIOT WHITE PAINTED WARE FLASK
MIDDLE BRONZE AGE, 1800-1650 B.C.
With anthropomorphic features, the lentoid body with short neck and narrow everted rim, pierced eye holes below with small nose in relief, strap handle in position of mouth, ears are indicated by pierced lugs at either side of the neck, diminutive lug at base of neck on reverse, decorated with red/brown painted registers of cross-hatched lozenges and chequerboard bands, repaired, lower body restored; and another similar ware flask, the body with cutaway-beak spout and eight pierced lugs around the edges, single ring handle at base of neck, with red painted cross-hatched linear decoration, mounted, Middle Bronze Age, circa 1800-1725 B.C.
