A CYPRIOT DRAB POLISHED WARE JAR WITH ATTACHED FIGURE
MIDDLE BRONZE AGE, CIRCA 1725-1650 B.C.
The twin-handled jar with spherical body and cylindrical neck, each side with the head and neck of a human figure emerging at the base of the jar's neck, wearing headdress and neck-bands in relief, protruding nose and pierced ears, incised dots for the eyes and mouth, the vessel with triple-pierced semicircular ears beneath the rim, between them on either side a pointed lug and incised zigzag lines, a double-stranded dotted necklace in relief beneath each figure, a similar necklace composed of three strands under each handle with incised vertical zigzag between, the handles with pierced lugs and bi-lobed thumb-grip spur above, repaired with slight restoration
