A Satsuma tripod koro and cover
19th century
with Buddhistic lion finial, twin upright handles and three short feet, painted and gilt around the body with a continuous scene of ladies and children at play, fetching water and catching fireflies in an evening landscape of flowers and grasses, all within borders of floral and geometric motifs -- 5¼in. (14.5cm.) high, signed Kinkozan; and a pair of flaring beaker vases, decorated with panels of ladies and attendants at leisure on riverbanks before mountainous and blossoming trees -- 6in. (5.2cm.) high, signed, wood stands.
