Possibly Melpomene, the muse of tragedy, the standing figure wearing a long chiton and a tightly-wrapped himation, her hair pulled back into a chignon with tendrils falling around her face, her right hand at her hip, her left arm lowered, a tragic mask with an open mouth suspended to the right, preserving traces of original pigment throughout
