A George I ebonised striking bracket clock with quarter repeat and calendar

The case with foliate cast brass handle to an inverted bell top, formerly with brass finials, glazed upper and lower panels to the sides and quarter frets to the front door, on brass bun feet, the brass dial with chevron engraved border, silvered crossed mitre and coronet spandrels to a silvered chapter ring with elaborate cross half hour and lozenge half quarter hour markers, strike/not strike lever by 15, the matted and gilded centre with engraved mock pendulum swinging against a blued steel plate, signed on a plain oval reserve Mans: Bennett Charing Cross, with pierced and blued steel hands, the arch engraved with cornucopiae issuing foliate scrolls around a silvered date ring also with matted centre, the five pillar twin fusee (gut lines) movement with verge escapement (reconverted), hour strike on bell and pull wind quarter repeat on six bells, the back plate profusely engraved with foliate scrolls and with repeat signature, with steel movement securing brackets to the sides of the case
