Late 18th century, possibly Genoa
The later triangular alabaster marble top with inset moulded verde antico edges, above a stiff-leaf and trailing foliate carved frieze on a turned fluted tapering leg, surmounted by stiff-leaf carving, minor losses to carving and decoration, the decoration refreshed

Lot Essay

These elegant consoles, with their leaf-wrapped, fluted supports and frieze of delicate trailing foliage, relate to a Genoese console with similar ornament and single fluted support illustrated in A. González-Palacios, Il Mobile in Liguria, Genoa, 1996, p. 302, fig. 353.
