An Edwardian mahogany quarter-chiming longcase clock with tubular bells, early 20th century
The substantial case with broken arch pediment and dentil cornicing, glazed side panels, with fluted columns flanking a glazed trunk door, the 13in. wide gilt-brass dial with openwork floral spandrels and conforming centre to a silvered chapter ring with applied Arabic numerals, with chime/silent and strike/silent levers to the sides, subsidiary seconds ring to the centre with retail signature COLONIAL MFG CO ZEELAND MICH USA, with painted rolling moon to the arch, the movement with deadbeat escapement, quarter chiming on four tubular bells and with hour strike on further bell -- 96¾in. (246cm.) high
