A SEVRES LAVENDER BLUE-GROUND CUP AND SAUCER (GOBELET 'LITRON' ET SOUCOUPE, 3EME GRANDEUR)
Blue interlaced L's enclosing date letters JJ for 1786, painter's mark for Capelle, the cup incised 26 and 29, the saucer with an illegible incised mark
Painted in the style of Salembier with a band of arabesques and scrolls reserved on the blue ground between gilt ribbons, puce scallops and confronting scalloped bands on either side
2 5/16in. (5.9cm.) high, the cup; 4 7/8in. (12.4cm.) diam., the saucer (2)
