The cup with a double-scroll ear-shaped handle enriched with gilding, each side painted with figures by quaysides within quatrefoil ogival black line cartouches divided by flowering branches against the lavender ground, the border of the saucer with three flower-sprays in the Kakiemon palette about a central river-landscape with two couples at discussion by a large monument before a distant village within paired iron-red concentric circles, the lavender ground underside with two flowering branches, gilt bands to the footrims, gilt line rims
