CIRCA 1753, TUREEN AND STAND WITH BLUE INTERLACED L MARKS ENCLOSING A DOT, AND PAINTER'S MARK FOR XHROUET, INCISED I TO TUREEN

A Vincennes bleu lapis-ground quatrefoil sauce-tureen, cover and stand
Circa 1753, tureen and stand with blue interlaced L marks enclosing a dot, and painter's mark for Xhrouet, incised I to tureen
Each piece painted in colours with two birds in flight, one, on the stand, with a branch in it's beak, within richly-gilt shaped-oval trellis, trailing flower and scrolling foliage cartouches, within gilt dentil rims, the cover with entwined double gilt-enriched branch handle (some very minor scratching and minute wear to the gilding of one foliage garland to the stand)
The stand 10¼ in. (26 cm.) wide

John Alexander, 4th Marquess of Bath (1831-1896), Longleat, Wiltshire and by descent at Longleat.
