Lot Essay

It's interesting to note that on the Beatles handbill a reference is made to the group being Parlophone Recording Artists as this concert pre-dated the release of The Beatles' first single on October 5th, 1962. They had however recorded Love Me Do and PS I Love You, the A and B sides of their debut single fourteen days earlier.

The handbills and ticket in this lot were the property of eighteen-year-old disc jockey, Derek Jeffery, who introduced the groups on those occasions at the Heswall Jazz Club.
