Unsigned, Meiji Period (Late 19th Century)
Lenticular with integral himotoshi; black lacquer ground with black low takamaki-e cherry-blossom pattern; main decoration in black and red takamaki-e with shell; compartments and risers gold nashiji, shoulders and rims gold fundame; unsigned; metal ojime; plain dark wood manju netsuke

Each side with an antique mirror, one decorated with ho-o and floral motifs and the other with a dragon motif; one with a red cord
