A 19th-Century lacquered-brass and grey enamelled compound microcope,
unsigned, but probably by Watson & Sons and stamped on the base of the main limb HOLOS FRAM. 10213, with rack and pinion, micrometer and draw tube focusing, triple nose-piece, mechanical stage and substage condensor and plano-concave mirror, the main limb raised via a compass joint from the tripod foot, with a 1in. and ¼in. objectives signed W. WATSON & SONS, LONDON each in a canister, and two eyepieces, in a fitted mahogany carrying case -- 13in. (33cm.) high
