The rectangular headboard and footboard joined by semi-circular sides ornamented as cornucopiae with acorn finials, the ends mounted with a laurel wreath pierced by an arrow, on a banded plinth base, the lower half of the end boards reveneered to the interior

Provenance
Almost certainly acquired by the duchesse de Dino around 1825 for the château de Rochecotte.
Thence by descent at Rochecotte to Count Stanislas de Castellane, heir of the duchesse de Dino.
Acquired by Emilio Terry, his brother-in-law, with the château de Rochecotte in 1934.

Lot Essay

Jacob Frères, Rue Meslée, was the stamp used by Georges II Jacob and Frangois-Honoré-Georges Jacob during their collaboration from 1797-1803.
