This second version of Tigre surprenant une antilope, with wholly naturalistic base, was offered from 1862 as the pendant to the first version of Panthère saisissant un cerf (see Poletti & Richarme, 2000, no. A81(1), p. 215). After 1876, the model was edited by Brame.
