The figures playing weiqi on one of the panels depict the legend of Wang Zhi, a woodcutter, who one day ventured up the Shishi mountain to find elderly men playing a game of weiqi in a grotto. Having stopped to watch the game being played, Wang was given food and water until it was time to leave but on his return he realised that in his absence hundreds of years had passed.
