In this 25 minute episode Paddington needs to earn money to buy Mr. Brown a birthday present. With the help of his book 'How to Make Money in a Hurry', he tries his hand at waiting (which he is not terribly good at), but later in the programme he successfully wins a dancing competition with one of his employers Mrs. Daphne Smith-Cholmley. Paddington Bear's creator Michael Bond wrote his first story about a bear he bought his wife for Christmas in 1956. His first book was published in 1958 'A Bear called Paddington', named after Paddington Railway Stations where the Bonds lived nearby. This became a huge success and a new book was published every year until 1981. The television series followed and Bond's character is still in demand today. These FilmFair programmes were written by Michael Bond, animated by Ivor Wood and narrated by Sir Michael Horden. These items were rescued from the rubbish by the vendor whilst working for FilmFair.
