The screw barrel has a stage section with a tortoiseshell mount, numbered 3, with two further brass sections numbered 1 and 2. The springs have been removed. Included in the case are: the two-section objective mount; six numbered objective discs; a turned ivory magnifying box; an empty turned ivory box; black and white disc with sliding brass arms; and several ivory sliders. The case is lined in green plush and covered in black fishskin, with a push-button catch.
