A CASED PAIR OF 28-BORE FRENCH FLINTLOCK PISTOLS

With sighted swamped octagonal polygroove rifled barrels signed 'Boutet Directeur Artiste Manufacture à Versailles' and now with browned finish, the muzzles and breeches retaining most of their conventional gold decoration, the latter with three small marks, 'BC', 'NB' and 'LC', plain bright tangs, bright bevelled detented locks inscribed 'Manuf.re à Versailles' (one cock broken), figured walnut full stocks, chequered butts, bright steel mounts including oval butt-caps, set triggers, and original steel-capped horn-tipped ramrods: in fitted iron-mounted walnut case lined in plum velvet with accessories
