JARIE JARIESSEN, ENSCHEDE, THE MOVEMENT 19TH CENTURY, THE CASE EARLY 20TH CENTURY
The case incised overall with scrolling designs, the hood surmounted by Atlas and herald figures above fretwork frieze, with further frieze panels to the sides and giltwood capped pilasters to the front, the trunk with gilt-brass Chronos mount to the lenticle and above bombé plinth, the brass dial with engraved border and seasonal spandrels to a silvered to a silvered arcaded Roman and Arabic chapter ring signed JARIE JARIESSEN ENSCHIDE, the engraved centre with apertures for month and day of week with symbols, date aperture below, seconds ring, alarm-setting disc now lacking, blued steel hands (minute partially missing), with silvered and engraved arch above painted rolling moon, the eight day four pillar movement with V-shaped cut-outs to the lower edges of the plates, anchor escapement with Dutch strike, alarm (connection lacking) and trip repeat on two bells
