JAMES, Henry (1843-1916). Letters of Henry James to Walter Berry. Paris: Roger Lescaret for The Black Sun Press/Éditions Narcisse, 1928. 4° (270 x 230mm). Title and text printed in red and black. Facsimile of letter three. (Light marginal browning, a few light marks, facsimile detached.) Original printed wrappers, glassine dustwrapper, cloth portfolio and morocco-backed slipcase (extremities of wrappers a little rubbed, dustwrapper with small tears causing minor losses, spine skilfully repaired).

Typed letter signed ('Henry James') to Walter Berry with autograph corrections and amendments, Lamb House, Rye, Sussex, 18 October 1912, headed 'Dictated' and discussing his illness and fatigue--'I have had a weary, dreary, sordid, squalid time, and don't even yet feel the tide to have very decidedly turned'--and outlining an itinerary for Berry's proposed visit to Lamb House on 22 October, 3 pages, 4° (the two sheets joined at the inner margin with tissue).
