CIRCA 1776, THE ECUELLE WITH BLUE INTERLACED LS AND INCISED LF, THE STAND WITH DARK-BROWN INTERLACED LS ENCLOSING DATE LETTER Y, PAINTER'S ··· MARK FOR TANDART AND INCISED SCRIPT YS(?)
The écuelle with entwined gilt loop handles, painted on each side with bouquets of pink, white and yellow roses within elongated oval gilt ciselé cartouches with short branches of gilt oak leaves below and joined at the sides by circular and pendant gilt garlands about the handles, the interior with a gilt dentil border, the domed cover similarly decorated about a gilt berried laurel branch finial, the shaped oval stand similarly decorated about a central gilt bouquet, gilt band and line rims (cover with restored rim chip, some areas of wear to gilding of écuelle rim, handles, cover rim and finial, further areas of very slight wear)
The stand 7 7/8 in. (19.9 cm.) wide
