Of oval section and designed in gold, silver and red takamaki-e and kirigane on a kinji ground with soft-metal inlaid figures of Shoka presenting a bow and arrows to Minamoto no Mitsunaka, the interior cases nashiji; fitted with a gilt-metal ojime pierced with a design of cherry blossoms and a shakudo moon, signed Ichijo and an ivory ryusa netsuke carved with a waterwheel and waves signed Mitsuaki
