The silver inlaid inscription in the roundels reads:
al-'izz li-mawlana (LA) al-sultan [al-]a'zam malik-e riqab al-umam (A) al-sultan sala tin al-'arab wa al-'ajam (LA) (Glory to our Lord, The Greatest sultan, the one who curbs nations, the Sultan of [all] sultans of the Arabs and non-Arabs)
The smaller inscription, originally inlaid in gold, contains paired benedictory phrases
The underside has four later owners' inscriptions in the names of:
Mulla Sultan Muhammad Tuni, Haji Subhan, Abu Taleb 1211 (1786-7 AD) and Haji Muhammad Nasr
