A late 19th-Century polished-brass student's compound monocular microscope,
signed JOHN BROWNING 63 Strand London 114, with draw-tube and micrometer focusing, stage-mounted bull's-eye, substage aperture disc and plano-concave mirror, on a raised Y-shaped foot, with a quantity of unused sliders and three microphotographs by J.B. Dancer, no.4 Her Majesty the Queen, the Princess Royal and Prince of Wales, painted by E. Landseer, no.57 The Departure - second class and no.58 The Return - First Class, both painted by A. Solomon, in a mahogany carrying case with brass handle and key -- 27.3cm. (10¾in.) high
