probably Berlin, circa 1760/1780
Oblong brown mauve mocha striated agate box with hinged slightly raised cover, the gold mounts engraved with a foliate ribbon-twist band, the slightly raised thumbpiece chased with flowers and foliage
3 1/8 in. (79 mm.) wide
