A RHODIAN POTTERY FIGURAL ARYBALLOS
ARCHAIC PERIOD, CIRCA EARLY 6TH CENTURY B.C.
Molded in the form of a lion's head, with a wide open mouth, the tongue lolling between the teeth, the ears erect, the vessel mouth at the top of the head, with a cylindrical neck and disk rim, the back of the head flat, white slipped with extensive red pigment preserved on the tongue and vessel mouth
