A DUTCH DELFT IMARI TULIP-VASE

The heart-shaped body surmounted by five nozzles of octagonal section, the front with three further nozzles, painted in the Imari palette with birds in flight and flowering shrubs, the reverse with a figure walking over a bridge in an exotic landscape with trees, flowering shrubs and pagodas, the sides with two winged beast handles, on a flared rectangular foot with green-ground panels reserved with white and red scrolling foliage and blue-ground panels at the sides with circular and foliate cartouches enclosing imitation Chinese characters (central front nozzle a replacement, restored chipping to six other nozzles, footrim and beast's mouths, restuck section to front right corner of base with associated losses)
